The Perfect Location For A Sea Kayak Symposium
The small village of Cornucopia Wisconsin is centrally located within easy reach of several fantastic paddling and coaching locations, not to mention the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, which is considered one of the country's premier paddling destinations and is only 3 miles from town.
Our event site has access to the best beach on the south shore of Lake Superior, with fantastic open grassy spaces and covered pavilions in case of inclement weather. The town boasts a couple of restaurants, a general store, a coffee shop, and a gas station, and is within walking distance of a waterfall hike.
Camping Options (from closer to further away)

Free Event Camping: We have 'primitive' camping at the Cornucopia Airport. (Yes we have an airport) Limited to tents, vans, and 13' scamp or pop up style campers. Includes porta-potty and drinking water. No showers. Good cell service. WIFI password is 'cornylovesraf'

Siskiwit Lake Campground - Good for tent and van camping. No reservations required or available.

Herbster Campground - All size RV's, as well as tent camping on the beach and wooded sites. RESERVABLE

Things To Bring
Kayak and associated rescue/safety equipment. If you are unable to bring your own gear, some of our event partners are offering a discount on rentals for the weekend. $40/day. Packages include kayak, PFD, paddle, skirt, float, pump, wetsuit.
Make sure to ask about delivery if needed, otherwise it is assumed that you will pick up and return to the outfitter location. Outfitters are not able to transport your equipment during the event, and cannot issue and re-issue each day. You cannot leave equipment at the event venue location overnight. (There won't be anyone there) This means that you will need to keep the equipment overnight, secure and safe throughout the weekend.
Although many classes don't require further transportation, some do and you will likely need to transport to several locations during the weekend. That being said, there is often space on a trailer and it has always worked out. Regardless, you will still need to make these plans on your own.
